I am a senior at Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa the academic year 2003-2004. May 2004, I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. This website is meant to be a documentation of my wonderful experience summer 2003 as well as a thank you to everyone who helped make this summer wonderful!

Within the first couple months of 2003, with the encouragement of my advisor Sheila Castaneda, I applied to the Computing Research Association's Distributed Mentor Project. Much to my delight I was selected to be a participant. Within a couple days I received an email informing me of my match with Dr. Laurie Williams at North Carolina State University. I encourage you to look at the projects I have devoted my summer to as well as the final report. I also welcome you to read my journal entries documenting my thoughts and activities throughout my stay in North Carolina...Utah...and Texas.

While in school I participate in many activities and organizations. This academic year I am the student body president as well as a director for Emmaus Retreats. Some other academic projects I have worked on are worth taking a look at as well.

I love to play golf; however golf doesn't so much love me! I really play golf for the social time (don't tell my coach that!)...and the possibility of getting better.

I have the privilege of working with amazing leaders on and off campus! I am very excited to see what we can do when we're all working together! We have high goals set for ourselves with the mindset of achieving them! This year we plan to have more interaction between student leaders and the administration of our school. We also would like to see more involvement by more students!

When I'm not trying to "plan" stuff...well I always plan stuff...like my garden at home...I love to garden! This year I had help from one of my amazing friends Angel. Despite a few "bugs" we were able to turn the dirt mound into a beautiful home for flowers.

This summer I am enjoying the life of a North Carolinian! Southern Hospitality is a true luxury! Everyone down here is so down to earth and friendly! From the sweet tea to the biscuits, my roommates have given me a taste of what it's like to live in the South!
