 | Attendance at all class sessions.
Do not make medical or academic appointments during scheduled class time.
These will not be con-
sidered excused absences. While some absences are unavoidable,
such as athletic events (for athletes only), illness and organized
academic field trips, you are still responsible for the information
generated during the classes missed.
|
 | Read text &
visit WEB sites (3x5 card sue each Tuesday)
in relation to class presentations. You
are responsible for the information in the text concerning the artists and cultures
covered in class.
|
 | Study the slides available in the Slide Viewing
Cases each week.
(Cases are on the second level of the Atrium toward MJH.)
|
 | First semester students will complete:
Two (2) short TYPED papers.
One is to be an analysis of a particular work of art
(2-3
pages). A list of works from which to choose will be given.
The other (4-6 pages) is to be a comparison of two
different
artworks. Topics must be approved beforehand.
Paper #1 is due OCTOBER 7.
Paper #2 is due NOVEMBER 18.
|
 | Second semester students will complete:
A RESEARCH paper (8 -10) pages on an approved topic.
These will be discussed with each student individually.
Research Paper is due
NOVEMBER 18.
|
 | TESTS: Two (2) during the semester plus a final
exam. These
will be slide comparison tests and will be taken from class notes
and text material.
Because of the nature of these, there can be
NO MAKE-UP tests. Think seriously before you decide to cut
class on a test day.
|
 | There will be several "in-class" discussions
and short
writing exercises or quizzes which will be included in your
grade.
|
 | Each Tuesday you are responsible for completing a
3x5 card related
to a WEB site you visited. These must be relevant to
the topic(s) of
that week. We will discuss some of these in class
so be prepared to participate.
