and lacquer is a varnish made with natural or synthetic resins used to
cover decorative work. The items
that are often made of these art forms are jars, figurines, dishes,
toilet boxes, buddhas, ritual blocks,
ornaments, bowls, wine beakers, cups, and rocks (Sullivan).
