Main types of brain cells:

Neurons: brain contains 100 billion of these.  So far evidence shows that memory, feelings, impulses, and thoughts are from the electrochemical activity of neurons.  Nerve cells (neurons) get info from their dendrites (branches) and pass info using axons (Davis 23).

Glial cells (glia): reside in the spaces between neurons.  They hold neurons together in their complex structures.  Brain has 10-100 times more of these than neurons (Davis 23).
